Otchi is an interactive storyteller for voice assistants (e.g. Google Home, Amazon Echo) to promote collaborative play between all groups of people with a special focus on visually impaired and blind children. Players gather around Otchi to witness the development of a story. While Otchi leads the activity, players can contribute to the story by deciding what to do next, asking the right questions, or adding details to the story. Each time a story is told, players can discover new opportunities.

The work deals with political gestures in the context of sports. They are gestures that convey a political narrative to the outside world. A sports event is one of the largest communication platforms; it combines cultural, social, economic and political interests. This place is to be occupied. Even if the body and its movements are wordless as such, the gestures become direct speech acts. In this sense, the artists also regard the performative gestures in sport as a linguistic act. On the one hand, they were interested in the performative and mimetic character of these gestures, and on the other hand, the body becomes the bearer and symbol of resistance.

“TranSphère” deals with the technological expansion of the human body in the discourse field “Human Enhancement”. For this purpose, the neurological measurement method electroencephalography (EEG) is used as an artistic tool by which the brain activity of the performers is measured during the performance and transformed into visual and auditory outputs. An audio-visual experience is created for the viewer. Based on the motif of the Doppelgänger, the performance explores the duality of human beings and technology - technology as a digital Doppelgänger of the analog self. The ego and the other, the familiar and the foreign, the analog and the digital collapse and cancel each other in the effect and their categorical function for human perception.

The young company RFID choreographies offers the implantation of RFID microchips and uses the transmission medium “Near Field Communication” to introduce choreographic approaches to everyday actions.
As part of P-Bodies 2016, RFID choreographies presented its half-year balance sheet for 2015/16 and at the same time celebrated the hundredth customer and thus the hundredth implant in a ceremonial act.

Having arrived in the gesture of the present, RFID choreographies explores the interactive possibilities of cybernetic organisms. The young team uses implanted RFID chips as invisible little helpers to develop choreographic solutions in the context of building automation and network technology. In cooperation with body modders, there are tremendous connections between people and technology. Together with the clientele, RFID choreographies will realize everyday practical hybrid wishes and re-code intelligence and give you the right implant. With the RFID chip, for example, you can magically open your apartment door or start your car. The technology fair for buildings and infrastructure ‹ineltec.› Is entirely dedicated to modern building technology and the intelligent home of the future. On the New Technology Boulevard, think tanks, start-ups and RFID choreographies offer trade fair visitors a unique experience.

«if now was somewhere else» was a Live-Audio-Walk crossing bridges. The walk took place simultaneously in Zurich, Hamburg and Hong-Kong on May 13th, 2015. In the course of 20 Minutes, three narrators aurally guided the spectators across the following bridges: Duttweilerbrücke in Zurich, Baakenhafenbrücke in Hamburg and the Circular Bridge in Hong Kong.

La Città e i Perdigiorno – that’s what Beatrice Marchi and Mia Sanchez call their joint exhibition at the Istituto Svizzero in Milan. The two artists are united by their love of storytelling. A detective strolling through Milan, a photographer with a gigantic camera lens or Mafalda, the dog with the long hanging ears, are figures that appear in their stories, in their works. Perhaps these are precisely the ‘perdigiorno’ – a thoroughly poetic term in Italian that could best be translated as ‘day thief’. Figures, in other words, who roam the city, lose themselves in time, in the day, discover things that we do not see. For the exhibition in Milan, the two artists are developing new installation works and videos that follow the traces of this ‘perdigiorno’ and explore the urban space.

hereish and nowish is a live installation. A choreography of five performative breathing techniques demonstrates a pronounced corporality that one cannot escape. The structural openness of the seven-hour long performance (running in 60-minute loops) allows visitors to decide for themselves when they wish to enter and exit. Over time, communities, liaisons and accomplices occur among the visitors that come, go and stay.
The performative breathing techniques divide the body into polarities between life and non-life. Through breathing, we are weaving symbiotic relations with our environment whereby man created divisions between inside and outside, local and global, nature and culture, and life and non-life—all of which are moving towards a line that crosses our bodies.
In hereish and nowish, the practice of breathing becomes the mediator between the binarities of a contemporary ecological catastrophe, where the use of technologies rebounds to our bodies. Where body and technology can no longer be separated from each other, the catastrophe gains a real material force. In hereish and nowish, life itself becomes the intrinsic form; it is what places this live installation beyond work and reproduction.

The video, La molécule (in the screen), was based on a performance filmed on January 18, 2015, at Tanzhaus in Zürich. In the video, several persons work together to create a sequence of shared gestures. Inspired by Yvonne Rainer and her famous performance, Trio A (1968), the artist incorporates simple, fragmentary movements that explore action and examine their own performativity. Dressed in identical outfits, the bodies are interchangeable, and their way of moving is reminiscent of the regularity and systematic character of a machine. The rhythm, however, is disrupted by the uneven ground that makes it difficult to shift body weight. The symmetry, initially established by a set of mirrors, is unsettled by the entrance of several similar bodies, diffracting the first entity. The words spoken by a voice off-screen contribute to the difficulty in identifying a subject, thus creating an opaque first person. Here, Knobel references Roland Barthes and his research on the “neutral”. The neutral allows us to let go of the binary habitus for the sake of a zone of conflict or undecidability. The neutral undermines both the notion of identity and the search for meaning.
